At this stage, students have already revised and refined their articles in the IMPROVE phase. They now focus on finalizing their manuscript, reflecting on their learning, and preparing for submission. This phase emphasizes applying feedback from ChatGPT, refining the article, understanding the submission process, and producing a polished final draft.

T 9.1 Brainstorming

In this stage, students review the comments and suggestions provided by ChatGPT on their articles. The lecturer guides the discussion to help students understand which areas need improvement and how to prioritize revisions. Students make notes on the main points to address in their revision.

Worksheet 9.1 -Finalizing Your Manuscript: Reflection and Revision

Instructions:

  1. Review the feedback you received from ChatGPT and any additional comments from the lecturer.
  2. Identify key areas in your article that need revision.
  3. Take notes on the main points and suggestions to guide your final improvements.
  4. Plan the order in which you will revise sections to efficiently finalize your manuscript.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Which feedback points are most critical to address before submission?
  2. How will you apply this feedback to improve clarity, coherence, and overall quality?
  3. What challenges do you anticipate in finalizing your manuscript, and how will you address them?

T 9.2 Individual Exploration

In this stage, students revise their articles individually based on the ChatGPT feedback, previous rubric evaluation, and digital tool checks (Turnitin, Grammarly/LanguageTool). They focus on improving clarity, coherence, argumentation, structure, and referencing. A Revision Log can be used to track changes made in each section.

Worksheet 9.2 Revising Your Manuscript Based on ChatGPT Feedback

Before submitting your article to the  Journal, carefully review your manuscript using this checklist. The purpose of this activity is to ensure that your manuscript meets all formal and content requirements of the journal, minimizing the risk of rejection or revisions.

Steps to follow:

  1. Read each aspect and indicator listed in the checklist.
  2. Evaluate your manuscript honestly for each item and mark Yes if it fulfills the requirement or No if it does not.
  3. Take notes on any items marked No, and plan revisions to address these issues before submission.
  4. Pay special attention to formatting, language, originality, and completeness of content, including title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references.
