                1. Following Journal Standards
From the interview, Miss Gartika said that before writing a paper, we really need to find a research gap and make a strong framework first. She also reminded me that plagiarism is a big no, and we have to follow the journal’s structure. I think that’s true because journals like Cakrawala Pendidikan or ELTIN Journal also focus on IMRaD format, correct citations, and good organization.

                2. What I Observed from the Sample Article
When I read the IJAL article about “BIPA Teachers’ Perspectives on Digital Game-Based Language Learning (DGBLL)”, I could see how the theory and guidelines are applied in real writing. The introduction flows well, the methods are clear, and the discussion connects perfectly with previous studies. It reminded me of what Miss Gartika said — that a good paper always links results with theory and keeps the discussion consistent and logical.

                3. Challenges and Tips
Miss Gartika also talked about some real struggles, like writer’s block or high similarity score. She suggested using Grammarly or Quillbot, but not depending too much on them. Journal rules usually only talk about format, but her advice feels more practical and helpful for beginners like us.

                4. Common Things I Found
From all the sources, I can see that good writing needs three main things: clear structure, original ideas, and consistency. We have to plan our writing, stay focused, and make sure everything connects logically. A good paper isn’t just about data, but about how we explain it in a simple and understandable way.

                  1. Writing scientific articles is important for English Education students because it helps us understand problems that arise in class and find solutions through research. So we don’t just learn theory, but we can also make a real contribution through writing.

                  3. I read a journal about using Duolingo to improve students’ grammar skills, then I compared it with another journal that discussed a similar topic. The structure of both was the same, with an introduction, methods, results, and discussion (IMRaD). But one of them had more complete explanations, especially in the statistics section.
                  4. The part that confused me the most was the methodology, because there were many technical terms and explanations about research design that were sometimes difficult to understand if you were not familiar with the terms.
                  5. By reading journals, I learned how to write well and correctly, from how to organize ideas, use more formal language, to understanding the correct structure of academic writing. So, it can be useful for writing assignments or theses later on.

The article I read was titled “The Effectiveness of the Duolingo App in Teaching Vocabulary to Seventh-Grade Junior High School Students.” I came across it last week via Google Scholar. The topic was very interesting because it discussed the use of the Duolingo app in improving junior high school students’ English comprehension. I accessed it online, and I found the article’s content quite clear and focused on experimental research. The experience of reading this article was very impressive because it showed that learning English can be more interactive and fun with the help of technology like Duolingo. I was curious and motivated to learn more about how this app can help students learn vocabulary effectively, and I was inspired by the research results that showed that the use of technology can actually improve students’ learning abilities.
