22220060))1. From my point of view, writing scientific articles is crucial for English language learners because it forms the foundation of their academic and professional development. This process trains students in critical thinking and research from problem formulation and literature review to data analysis essential skills for further study and careers.
2. I usually use Google Scholar to search for and read journal articles. I found two journals with the same theme: “APPLYING DIGITAL STORYTELLING TO IMPROVE INDONESIAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ VISUAL MEMORY AND WRITING SKILLS” and “The use of digital storytelling to improve students’ writing skills.” Both articles use the IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) structure, which is the standard format for scientific research articles. The difference between the two articles lies in the research subject.
3. The most difficult sections of journal articles for me to understand are usually the Methodology and Discussion. This difficulty arises because these two sections often present information in great detail and use dense technical language.
4. Reading journal articles helped improve my academic writing skills because journals served as role models. I learned firsthand how experts logically structure arguments (IMRaD), from introduction to conclusion. Furthermore, I was exposed to a formal and precise style of writing, which taught me how to use technical terminology correctly and master proper citation and referencing skills, which are the gold standard in scientific writing.

Rida Rahadathul Aisya Ardani (22220060)Academic writing is a formal and structured way to present research supported by evidence. We have learned that it follows the IMRaD format and must include reliable references while avoiding plagiarism. Although we have not published a journal article yet, we understand that the process requires clear ideas, formal language, and careful review before acceptance. From our class experiences, we know an article usually includes a title, abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and references. Through this discussion, we hope to learn more about how to write and publish a good-quality research article, so we prepared several questions to guide us in the process.
Category 1 – Process Questions:
1. What are the essential steps from idea development to journal submission?
2. How long does the journal review process take on average, and what stages often cause delays?

1. In your experience, what is the single most important qualitative characteristic that distinguishes an excellent manuscript from an average one?
2. How important are originality and clarity in determining article quality?
3. Besides clarity of language, what are the three most frequent academic or logical errors that cause reviewers to recommend article rejection, even when the data is good?Category 3 – Challenges Questions:
1. What are the most common reasons articles get rejected by journals?
2. Mention one ‘best practical solution’ an author can use to address contradictory reviewer comments?
3. In terms of research ethics, what issues do you encounter most often, and what is your advice for avoiding them?Category 4 – Resources Questions:
1. What digital tools or software are most useful for academic writing and reference management?
2. How can writers make use of online platforms or workshops to enhance their skills?
3. What institutional support are helpful for improving publication success?Category 5 – Structure and Content Questions:
1. What are the standard sections of a research article in English Language Education?
2. How should authors in English Language Education balance discussing their findings with existing theory and presenting practical classroom implications?
3. What are common mistakes found in the discussion or conclusion sections?Rida Rahadathul Aisya Ardani
222200601.The title of the journal article I read was “Using Digital Storytelling as a Strategy for Enhancing EFL Writing Skills,” which I read last year and accessed on Scholar. I was intrigued when I saw the title and then read it. I think combining digital technology and English language learning is very inspiring, especially in the world of education and my major.
2. The part of memorable because I was interest by the topic, which is relevant to the world of education and the digital era. Using digital storytelling as a strategy to improve EFL students’ writing skills feels innovative because it combines technology with student creativity.
