Writing and submitting my journal article was a meaningful learning experience involving several important stages, from developing a research idea and collecting data to analyzing the findings, drafting, revising, and finally submitting the manuscript. Each stage contributed to my growth as a writer and researcher and helped me better understand the demands of academic writing and research ethics.

The first valuable lesson I learned was the importance of clarity in academic writing. Throughout the drafting and revision process, I realized that strong ideas must be supported by a clear structure, logical flow, and precise language to be understandable to readers. This lesson will influence my future academic writing by encouraging me to carefully plan my arguments and revise my work more critically to ensure coherence and readability.

The second lesson was the importance of research ethics and academic integrity. During the writing process, I became more aware of the need to cite sources accurately, avoid plagiarism, and report data honestly. Understanding ethical standards has strengthened my responsibility as a researcher and will guide me in conducting and presenting research transparently and ethically in future academic or professional work.

The third lesson relates to perseverance and self-development as a writer and researcher. The process of revising manuscripts, responding to feedback, and meeting journal requirements taught me that writing is a continuous process of improvement. This experience has boosted my confidence and resilience, motivating me to view feedback as an opportunity for growth. In the future, these lessons will help me approach academic and professional writing with greater discipline, patience, and confidence.

Submitting my manuscript to the PROJECT journal was a valuable first experience for me.The procedure necessitated paying close attention to the journal’s rules about word limits, formatting, referencing style, and paper structure. To guarantee clarity, consistency, and compliance with the journal’s scope, I had to make revisions to a number of parts. All things considered, the procedure was time-consuming yet instructive since it forced me to raise the caliber of my scholarly writing.
The significance of adhering to the journal’s author requirements was the most significant thing I took away from the submission process. I also discovered that editing a document involves more than simply content—it also involves presentation and professionalism. My knowledge of academic standards has increased as a result of this experience, and I am inspired to prepare future research publications with greater care, patience, and thoroughness.

Based on the interview with Miss Cynantia and the analysis of the Journal Guidelines and Sample Journal Article from the Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics (IJAL), it can be understood that writing a scientific journal article is not merely about reporting research findings, but rather an academic thinking process that requires accuracy, strategy, and a deep understanding of ethics and publication standards.

                    1. From the interview, Miss Cynantia emphasized the importance of reading numerous references before writing in order to build a strong theoretical foundation. This aligns with the Journal Guidelines, which highlight the need for a logical article structure supported by relevant literature review. Professional awareness also appeared in her explanation that academic publication is not only an administrative obligation but also an act of responsibility and contribution to scientific development.

                    2. In terms of ethics, she stressed the importance of academic honesty by avoiding plagiarism, whether through manual paraphrasing or using digital tools that are later revised by the writer. This principle corresponds with the IJAL guidelines, which emphasize originality, integrity, and adherence to publication ethics. Thus, both the interview and the journal guidelines view academic honesty as the main foundation of high-quality scientific writing.

                    3. From a technical perspective, Miss Cynantia explained that each journal has its own writing style and formatting requirements. This is consistent with the IJAL author guidelines, which clearly describe article structure, reference style, and formatting rules. The ability to adapt to these requirements becomes an important factor in successful publication.

                    4. Furthermore, the interview highlighted the importance of argumentative ability and coherence. According to Miss Cynantia, writing logically and coherently comes from consistent reading and continuous practice. This is reflected in the IJAL sample article, where the author presents clear arguments and integrates theoretical concepts with research findings smoothly. Both sources show that good academic writing is not only scientifically valid but also communicative and easy to follow.

                    5. In terms of relevance, Miss Cynantia stated that research topics should follow current academic trends to make them more meaningful and engaging. This idea is reflected in the IJAL article “BIPA Teachers’ Perspectives on Digital Game-Based Language Learning (DGBLL): Attitudes, Benefits, and Challenges in Teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language”, which discusses digital learning—an issue highly relevant in today’s educational context.

In conclusion, high-quality scientific writing requires a clear understanding of journal structure and formatting standards, academic integrity, logical reasoning, and topic relevance. By combining the insights from the interview, journal guidelines, and sample article.

                        1. I think writing a scientific article is really important for me as an English education student because it helps me learn how to write academically and express my ideas in a more structured and logical way. It also trains me to think critically, find reliable sources, and understand how research works. Besides that, by writing scientific articles, I can share new ideas or strategies that might be useful for English learning. For me, it’s also a good way to prepare for my thesis and improve my confidence as a future teacher or researcher. Overall, it helps me grow not only academically but also professionally.

                        3. I usually find the methodology section the most difficult part of a journal article to understand. This section often includes many technical terms, research designs, and data analysis methods that require deeper knowledge to interpret. Sometimes, the explanation of instruments or statistical procedures is too detailed or complex, making it hard to follow the process and results clearly.
                        4. In my opinion, reading journal articles really helps me improve my academic writing skills. By reading them, I can learn how to organize ideas clearly, use formal and academic language, and support arguments with evidence. It also helps me understand how to write more critically and logically, just like professional researchers. The more I read journal articles, the more I get used to the academic writing style, which helps me become a better writer myself.

Name : Danisya Al Jura Pratiwi (22220112)
                                1. My experience reading the article “Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK): Exploring Saudi EFL Teachers’ Views to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Learning” was interesting. It discusses how English teachers in Saudi Arabia apply the TPACK model to improve students’ vocabulary. I read it last night after downloading it from Google Scholar. I found the topic relevant to English education and helpful in showing how technology supports teaching and learning. However, the article was quite long and used many academic terms like mixed-methods and reliability, which made it a bit challenging to understand.
                                2. This reading experience was memorable because it helped me realize the importance of integrating technology in learning, especially to improve vocabulary. The main challenge was the academic language and the dense structure of the article.
